Mary Jo Mullins - Artistic Director

Born in Calgary, Alberta Mary Jo Mullins began her early dance training shortly after moving to St. Catharines ON. Ms. Mullins holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Dance from the University of Waterloo and a Bachelor of Education from Brock University. She has trained at The School of the Toronto Dance Theatre, Dancetheatre David Earle and extensively in a mentorship capacity with Canadian modern dance pioneer Patricia Beatty. Ms. Mullins has performed the works of such internationally renowned and accomplished artists as Patricia Beatty, Elizabeth Chitty, Bill Coleman, David Earle, Danny Grossman, Graham McKelvie, and Terrill Maguire among others and has originated many of these roles. She has made several of her own creations and is highly engaged in teaching the art form, having inspired thousands of students throughout Ontario. Her choreography has been performed in Toronto and Niagara and has recently been commissioned by the St. Catharines Chamber Music Society.

Erin Amadio was born and raised in Niagara Falls, ON. Ms. Amadio holds a Bachelor of Education from Brock University and she graduated with honours from the Theatre Studies program at York University where she also studied dance. Erin has performed at the Shaw Festival Theatre with the Niagara Symphony and at various community festivals and fundraisers. Ms. Amadio has also taught many styles of dance to students of various ages over the years, founded the Chain Re-Action Dance Theatre and worked with Learning Through The Arts as a dance and drama artist for several years. In 2006, Ms. Amadio commenced working with the Niagara Dance Company and has danced several works by Kathleen Hughes and Mary Jo Mullins and most recently, by Graham McKelvie.

Kirsten Sopik trained extensively in ballet and modern dance as a youth, performing with the Carousel Dance Company based in Waterloo, Ontario. She continued her dance studies, graduating from the University of Waterloo with an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Dance. Upon graduation, Ms. Sopik then trained in the Professional Training Program at the School of Toronto Dance Theatre. She has performed works by noted choreographers such as Gabby Kamino, Pam Grundy, Danny Grossman, and Bill Coleman. In May 2008, she became a member of the Niagara Dance Company and has since performed works by David Earle, Kathleen Hughes, Graham McKelvie and Mary Jo Mullins.
